About us

How readings are made

The free readings on BunCho Fortune combine edited texts (for the 78 tarot cards, the 12 zodiac signs, birthdays and more) with fixed calculations. Tarot cards are chosen with a random number on our server and are never re-chosen or changed afterwards.

Our guide Mochi is an original BunCho character, a white Java sparrow. Mochi is not a human fortune teller and never uses the name or title of a real person or fortune teller.

Fortune telling is for entertainment and self-understanding. It doesn't predict future events, reveal another person's true feelings, or guarantee anything about health, money or legal matters. We don't display "accuracy rates".

These pages are adapted for this language from the Japanese original edited by BunCho Fortune.

When you're stuck, please don't decide based on a reading alone. Talk to someone you trust, or to a professional, too.

How we handle what you enter

• No sign-up is needed for the free readings. We don't ask for your name, email or date of birth (the birthday reading uses only the month and day).
• The tarot result URL contains only the codes needed to rebuild the theme and cards, and no personal information.
• Your card collection and omikuji log are saved only on your device.
• Usage statistics (which readings are used) are recorded only with an anonymous visitor ID and the category.

For details, please see our privacy policy. There is also an FAQ.
