For indie comic, zine & doujinshi makers

Finish your comic book before the con

The convention is close and the pages aren't done. BunCho takes you from a page-count template through layout, art and balloons, to the cover and files your printer accepts — all on one screen. Made for original work.

A comic made with the 16-page template

Indie comics & zines: common problems and how BunCho solves them

The pages won't be ready in time

Start from a 16-, 24- or 32-page plan and move through layout → art → balloons. Redraw only the panels that need it.

Print files are confusing

Export 600 dpi TIFF, PDF with trim marks, or layered PSD with dialogue kept as text. Page numbers and bleed are handled.

No time left to promote the release

Make an announcement card and post copy from your cover, or a preview card from sample pages.

Comic book samples

Frequently asked questions

Can I send the files straight to a printer?
You can export 600 dpi TIFF and PDF with trim marks. Trim size, bleed and color mode vary by printer, so check your printer's file guide before exporting.
Can I make fan comics of existing series?
The studio is for original work. Requests using existing characters or real people's names and likenesses may be blocked.
Can I make just a cover?
Yes. Use the cover and title-page template, and make announcement or preview cards from it.
Which plan fits a full comic book?
A book means a lot of images, so Feast or above, where images and comic panels on our own GPUs are unlimited (fair-use limits apply), is a good fit. First-time subscribers get 7 days free.
